Brave New Words, Active in the Schools and Community

Brave New Words is a presenting organization for community based arts and performance events. The one-day festival on April 18, 2009 inaugurated a movement to increase the visibility and viability of poetry in a uniquely Whidbey format and environment.

Features of our events are award-winning poets, youth poets developed in our own community, multilingual poetry, an inspiring workshops, hosted open mics, poetry/art installations, music, connection, inspiration and more.

Brave New Word produced events are in the works! Our events are intended to encourage written and spoken word, dance, music and the visual arts on Whidbey.
